Symposium Proposal Guidelines
Engage in thematic sessions featuring 4-6 talks that explore specific topics from diverse viewpoints. We welcome multidisciplinary groups, especially those involving artists.
Please submit your proposal by 1st of April, 2025 in PDF format. For any further queries, advice, or discussing your idea, don’t hesitate to contact us by emailing below.
- Symposium title
- Synopsis (100 words for program)
- Summary (500 words for organizers)
- Info about organizers (name, institutes, etc.)
- Author names and affiliations
- Talk titles
- Talk abstracts (300 words each)
- Acknowledgements
Type of Submissions
Conversations
Conversations between artists and scientists have a special place in VSAC’s program. Conversations typically report collaborative research, but could also be a dialogue between two speakers. If the 300-word abstract is too limited, you can use the supplementary material.
Talks/Posters
There are two formats: Talks and Posters. If you submit a presentation, please provide a title, 300-word abstract, authors and affiliations, and detailed keywords. Please indicate your preferred presentation format. You may submit only one presentation as first/presenting author, but you can co-author as many as you wish.
Art/Demos
Artists and scientists may also submit a 300-word abstract and supplementary pdf describing artworks or scientific demonstrations.
Registration Fees
*The processing fee will apply at the checkout. Note: the price include a 3-day ticket with refreshments and lunch as well as an opportunity to purchase entry ticket to the museum at a special reduced price.
**Students will require to provide their student ID at the reception. Artists will be asked to share their professional website/social media account.
Cancellation Policy
- Cancel before 15th of June and receive a full refund of the registration fee, minus handling fee (€20).
- Cancel between 16th of June and 15th of July and receive a 50% refund of the registration fee, minus a handling fee (€20).
- Cancellation after July 16, 2025, or non-participation, is not eligible for a refund.
- In the unlikely event that VSAC is canceled due to a pandemic, war, or other catastrophic circumstances, all costs will be reimbursed, excluding expenses already incurred.
