We take pride in cultivating a friendly and supportive atmosphere where you can explore your interests, share your ideas, and connect with a vibrant community of like-minded individuals.
As a renowned sculptor, Michael S. critically engages with themes of war, destruction, and the commodification of conflict. His work emphasizes symbolic representation of war and challenges popular portrayal of warfare in the media. Michael’s work is held in major collections, including the British Museum, Tate, and The Met.
An expert in visual perception, machine learning, and art history, Aaron hypothesizes that linear perspective is less universally prevalent than traditionally believed, offering insights into how pictures function and proposing novel approaches to creating visual art.
As a researcher in psychology, Marina focuses on the intersection between cognition, emotion and art. She explores how art influences everyday cognition by connecting distant concepts and enhancing social cognition by assigning social meaning to ambiguous visual stimuli.
Research symposium and talks form the core of the event, where researchers will present their latest findings about the visual study of art, and artists share insights from their practice and experience.
Artworks play a vital role in stimulating the senses and sparking critical discussions and debates. This is especially true at VSAC, where art takes a central focus. By arranging some performances/art exhibitions and workshops we will celebrate the diversity on aesthetics, creativity, and complexity of art in all its forms to inspire and facilitate a meaningful dialogue.
This is where art and science come together in full force. Artist, curators, art historians and scientists will meet on stage to present their shared work, discuss burning questions, challenge perceptions and inspire future collaborations.
VSAC has a special legacy of social events. Join us to celebrate the community on Social Night and discover what really brings scientists and artists together!
